{September 13, 2012}   Boho Skirts Are Back In Vogue

Boho style offers a feminine look which is ideal for spring and summer. Its earthly tones, layered look with a touch of ethnicity and vintage are perfect for both seasons! In addition, Beautiful sheer fabrics which fall fluidly from the waist band are a great way to look chic and disguise a large tummy at the beach! Haha. So if you are looking for a style to strut this summer and spring, you better go Boho.

This season long lengths boho skirts are back in vogue. Tiered boho styles are also a great way to add elegance and offer either a smart casual or formal look. Wear flat toe post style sandals with pretty embellishment to add to the feminine look or wear strappy heels to ooze elegance! These styles of skirts also look great when teamed with boots which is an ideal way to look good and keep your feet dry during the April showers!

Petite women can also take advantage of this fashion trend as many high street and online retailers offer skirts in different lengths and while this style looks best worn long there is nothing more annoying than finding a skirt you love to find it either drags on the floor or is too short to look stylish!

Plain fabrics are perfect for coordinating with a pretty patterned top or a contrasting coloured tee shirt. Those who have a fuller figure should avoid tucking tops inside the waistband of the skirt as this will only add extra bulk. To define a waist and give shape a belt is the ideal solution.

Choose boho skirts which have delicate embroidery around the bottom or those which have pretty embellishments and sequins to add a touch of sparkle and glamour for evening wear.

Accessories should be long necklaces and numerous bangles! Wearing a long necklace will not only be in keeping with the boho style but also help to give the appearance of long body length, while bangles are one of this season’s biggest accessory trends.

For evenings sweep long hair up and wear long boho earrings. This will add length to the face and is a great way to give the illusion of a longer, slimmer neck. Ladies who have an ample bosom would look very stylish wearing a top which has a deep V-neck line to show off their wonderful cleavage! This is also perfect for those who want to draw attention away from their hips and bottom.

And lastly, it may seem a little old fashioned but you should remember to wear a slip if you choose skirts made of sheer fabrics. This will not only help the fabric to fall properly it will also provide dignity and decency by giving less transparency.

So the boho skirts are back in Vogue and on the fashion spotlight. It’s time to shop for one and enjoy this look too.

Boho Long Denim Skirt:

Denims, being versatile in nature, when crafted into a sophisticated long skirt can truly boost the way a woman feels, whether at work or with friends. It can be paired with a simple tee on a lazy day or combined with a strappy, layered top for a night out at the disc. A must in every woman’s wardrobe, the length can be played up in various ways. A long denim skirt can be fitted to the ankles mixed with a stretch blend for a hot and sultry look. Or it can be fitting at the hips, flowing down, with a slit at the side to reveal a flash of leg! Throw in some great stilettos and you are ready to melt the hearts of many. One can also find it embellished with embroidery or sequins though the classic, blue, long denim skirt has always been the one most favored.

Boho Gypsy Skirt:

If you think it is time to make a splash in many colors and flowing fabrics…the gypsy skirt is designed for you. Reminiscent of the ’60s and ’70s look, the fashion industry has implemented various ways to transform these gypsy skirts into what we see on the fashion runways today. This boho-chic look can be crinkled and flouncy in three tiers cascading all the way to the feet. Fabrics could range from transparent to layered cotton and can be teamed with short tank tops; peasant tops or embroidered ones for that ethnic touch. Boho Sarong:

Also known as a wrap-around and derived from the word ‘surong’, this sensuous garment is generally worn by women (sometimes even by men) mainly on pristine, white beaches! Easy to wear, this skirt needs only to be wrapped around and comprises a single piece of fabric. Generally found in bright, floral batik prints you can find a staggering range in terms of colors, fabrics and prints. The most popular, however, is the traditional tie-n-dye one. Worn especially, throughout Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia, the sarong has found its way from the beaches to the regular evening attire and has also remained to be an ultimate and casual style statement. A simple white top will aid in bringing out the beauty of this long skirt. Tattoos or body piercing can also heighten the effect.

{September 13, 2012}   Boho Skirts – The Cargo Edition

The bohemian look is all about function and fashion combine together. That is why I like strutting the boho look than any other look. Like for example, you can wear Boho skirts and look femininely good without sacrificing any valuable pocket space and the comfortable feeling. How to do that you might ask? Just wear Cargo boho skirts. Cargo skirts are my most favorite Boho skirt. These casual skirts have ample, expandable pockets for all of your needed trinkets, and the casual styling means that they’ll match nearly everything. It’s time to go cargo!

Cargo skirts can come in long or short styles. Long cargo skirts often have more pockets that short styles, and those packets can expand to carry an amazing amount of material. Shorter cargo skirts also have pockets, but these pockets may not be practical for carrying things. In fact, in some short cargo skirts, the pockets are there for decorative purposes only.

Tops to Wear with Cargo Skirts

Cargo skirts are meant to be worn for casual occasions. They shouldn’t be worn anywhere that has a dress code that’s slightly formal. Many schools ban cargo skirts altogether, as they are seen as much too casual. Before you wear your cargo skirt to school, check the dress code. Cargo skirts look great with equally casual tops. Balance a short cargo skirt with a long-sleeved tee shirt, to allow you to cover up at least some of your exposed skin. Conversely, balance your long cargo skirts with short tank tops. Cargo skirts can be a little boxy and formless, so make sure the top you choose is tight-fitting. Wearing a boxy shirt with a boxy skirt is a quick way to look like a box yourself. If the weather is chilly, throw a tight-fitting sweater on, but avoid any bulky coats or jackets. If you’re wearing your cargo skirt in lieu of carrying a backpack or purse, fill your pockets with your needed items and check yourself in the mirror. If your pockets are too full, you’ll have a bulging silhouette that is simply not attractive. Remove a few items from your pockets to help smooth the rough edges.

Shoes to Wear with Cargo Skirts

Your shoes should also be casual. Cargo skirts look great with ballet flats, preferably in the same color as the skirt. If you’re planning on doing a lot of walking in your skirt, consider comfortable boat shoes to complete the casual, active look. Steer clear of heels or wedges with this look. Those shoes are too formal and too high to wear with such as casual, working outfit. Boots of any sort should also be avoided. Keep your legs completely bare, if possible.

Accessories to Wear with Cargo Skirts

Straw hats make a nice addition to a cargo skirt outfit, as it implies you’re heading out on jungle safari. Look for chunky necklaces that fit this theme, with bone, amber or shell accents. Wooden bracelets also look lovely with cargo skirts. Wear only one large piece of jewelry at a time with your cargo skirt. You’d like the focus of attention to be on your legs here, not your loud jewelry, and you’d like to give the impression that you’re a carefree person out for an active day. Cargo boho skirts are perfect for girls who want to be feminine but not really. I know you feel what Isaid. We feel that every once in a while girls.

Tip #2: Try Your Hand at Vintage

Going VERY vintage is delicious when you know the tricks. Go for a skirt that flatters your figure and pair it with cropped long-sleeved top. If your skirt is figure hugging, opt for a loose cropped top. If your skirt is flowy, go fitted on top.

Tip #3: Go Casual on Top

You know that maxi skirt is over-the-top. In order to not look over-committing, wear a casual top for an effortless look.

Tip #4: Match Your Tank with Floral Skirt

Pairing a print with another print might be the new trend but you don´t want to look like a walking flower shop so you better steer away from it. Tone down the floral prints with a tank top in solid color that matches the floral of your skirt.

Tip #5: Layer for Cold Weather

Who says maxi skirts are just for spring? Transition your maxi skirt for cold weather by doing gorgeous layering. Wear a pleated skirt teamed with your favorite layering tops, jackets and boots.

Tip #6: Do Modern Boho Chic

It´s seven years since boho chic was the trend but you can still create a modern boho look with your maxi skirt. Choose a vibrant, boho-inspired top to go with your single solid-colored skirt, tuck in and slip a belt through the loops for a modern appeal.

Tip #7: Amp Up Black Maxi skirt with Sequined Long Cardigan

To avoid looking boring in a black maxi skirt, wear with it a striking tank top and throw over it a sequined long cardigan or jacket. Add an interesting scarf that complement your top.

Tip #8: Make Things Interesting

A printed maxi skirt is very over-the-top. Balance it with neutral pieces such a tank tops in earthy hues and a black Kimono cardigan. Wear a hat that adds attitude.

Tip #9: Create Stripes and Solid Color Combo

Team a vibrant solid color maxi print with a black striped top and vice-versa. Pink floats out with black and red is luscious when teamed with black and white stripes. Then slip into your favorite ankle boots in black or brown.

One of the reasons the cardigan boho sweaters has maintained popularity over the past century and a half is due to its extreme versatility. These Boho sweaters can be worn alone, layered, belted, or with leggings. The possibilities are endless. Whatever style of clothing you prefer, the cardigan sweater is a good fit.

One of the most common ways a cardigan sweater can be worn is as a basic top. The cardigan is identified as either buttoning, zipping, or tying in the front. If worn secured, the cardigan can be worn alone. The sweater comes in a variety of styles, some casual and some formal. Short sleeved or sleeveless cardigans are the perfect choice for spring or summer wear paired with a pant or skirt.

Another popular way to wear a cardigan sweater is layered over another shirt or top. It is perfect for those situations where extra warmth is needed without the extra bulk of a jacket, coat, or other type of outerwear. The cardigan is especially suitable for school or office situations where the temperature may change throughout the day and the wearer does not have the option to adjust the thermostat to suit their own personal needs.

If you have a cardigan in your wardrobe, you may want to mix up the look a little. An easy way to accomplish this is by adding a belt over the sweater. This works best when the cardigan is hip length or a little longer. Adding a contrasting belt gives a basic cardigan a more formal and suited look. Pair the ensemble with a coordinating necklace to add even more pizzazz.

Another popular way to wear a cardigan is over leggings. This works best with longer, tunic styles of cardigans. To keep a sleek and slimming look, stick to bottoms with a narrow profile. Stretch leggings, cigarette pants, and riding style pants are all styles that look fabulous paired with a longer cardigan on top.

Regardless of your lifestyle, cardigan Boho sweaters are excellent basic piece to make up one of your wardrobe staples. Cardigan boho sweaters can be worn in many different ways and are suitable for a variety of social situations. If you think the boho look and the cardigans are not for you. Think twice. There are absolutely endless creative ways on how you can wear cardigan Boho sweaters and be a head turner. Check out come of it here:

Wear Your Cardigan Belted

One easy way to give a cardigan instant shape is to add a belt. Place the belt at your true waist (the smallest part) to create a sexy hourglass shape.

Wear an Open Style for Softness

Get a soft, flattering look from a cardigan that doesn’t have any fasteners. These open cardigans give your look a fluid, easy look and also create a strong vertical line so you look taller and thinner. When paired with a bow blouse, like Anne Archer has done, the effect is really feminine.

Wear a Longer Layer Under Your Cardigan

Add a long tee or tunic under your cardigan for a short-over-long play on proportion. This is a great way to keep a cardigan from looking too boxy or frumpy. Works best with a fitted cardigan.

Give a Cardigan a Schoolgirl Twist

The cardigan can also add a cute uniform vibe when paired with things like a tie, flippy plaid skirt and white shirt. You can also go schoolboy by adding khakis or boyfriend jeans paired with a cardigan (just remember to add at least one feminine element.)

Add a Pop of Color

Add a brightly colored cardigan to make an instant update. Cobalt, grass green, hot pink and yellow all make a great addition to any outfit.

Use a Cardigan to Add Drama

Take a basic look and add a dramatic touch with a long, textured cardigan. Longer, chunkier cardigans are best on taller women. Complete the dramatic look with equally dramatic accessories like bold necklaces, earrings or a cuff.

Wear a Cardigan as a Top

Want a sexy, relaxed look? Wear your cardigan buttoned up with nothing underneath like Helen Hunt has done. Or wear a camisole underneath with a little lace peeking out for a sweet touch.

Add Texture with a Cardigan

Crocheted, lacy and open-knit cardigans can add lots of visual interest to an outfit; so can chunky knits. Helen Mirren pulls it off by adding texture to a print by keeping it in the same color family.

Go Preppy with a Cardigan

Give a plain cardigan a preppy twist by wearing it buttoned up over an untucked shirt. Preppy accents like plaid or bow ties complete the look. Give preppy a modern twist by adding something edgy like skinny jeans or bold brights to complete the look.

Wear a Cardigan with Leggings

Longer cardigans, like Martha Stewart is wearing, are perfect to partner with leggings. Just make sure the cardigan is long enough in back to cover your bottom.

{September 13, 2012}   Boho Scarves Finish Your Gypsy Look

One of the most feminine styles fashionable women have adopted over the decades is the gypsy look. It does not matter whether you lean towards the dramatic Flamenco style or the more casual hippy look. This sensual style always attracts attention. And of course, let’s not forget an important part of thelook. This gypsy look is incomplete without Boho scarves.

In order to create the gypsy look, you can simply rely on the basic contents of your closet. What you may have to purchase, if you don’t already own one or more, are sik boho scarves. A hand handmade silk shawl or scarf adds the perfect touch to an outfit that begins with your choice of top. For this, you may prefer a bustier style. Alternatively, select a scooped cotton blouse with puffy or capped sleeves. Some prefer an off-shoulder top while others may favor a low cut tee shirt featuring capped or puffy sleeves. All will work.

The skirt may be flared and falling to the knee or longer. Remember – the fuller the skirt, the better the look. To accentuate or create a narrow waist and wider hips, use a wide, black belt. Shoes offer several options. You can go for the flat and even delicate look by wearing sandals or cotton espadrilles for the summer. In the winter or even summer, a pair of heavy and tall Doc Marten’s or combat boots complete the overall look – just be sure to let your heavy wool socks peak out over the edge. Fold them over the boot tops. This masculine touch simply makes the look more feminine as it contrasts with and brings out the femininity of the fabric.

When it comes to layering further, you may not need to play with silk boho scarves or shawls to increase the effect. You may be able to simply complete the look by covering your entire head with a fabulous hand painted silk scarf. You cover your head with the silk scarf, wrap it around to conceal the forehead then tie it tightly close to one ear. You can then drape a sumptuous hand-dyed shawl casually across your shoulders.

If your skirt lacks enough volume, you can add another layer easily. Simply take silk boh scarves or shawl, drape it over your skirt and tie it around your hips. One that will work particularly well is a fringed silk shawl or scarf. Finish off the gypsy look by placing a striking silk shawl over your shoulders and wear a stunning silk scarf to cover your head. To complete the authenticity of this look, be sure to wear very large hooped gold earrings.

{September 13, 2012}   Boho Scarf As Hair Accessory

I love scarves! And what’s not to love about them? They are very versatile, colorful and you can absolutely do endless styles on it. It is indeed the fashion accessory that I cant live with out. My favorite style of scarves is the boho scarf. Unlike other scarf, Boho scarf’s earthly color with a twist of ethnicity and vintage sets it apart from others and make it standout.

Recently, I’ve discovered new ways on how to wear a Boho scarf to achieve that infamous Boho look in the nontraditional way. That’s right. In addition to the usual way of wearing a scarf around the neck, another stylish way to sport a scarf is to wear it as a head piece or hair accessory. Head scarves can complete an elegant outfit when draped over the head or they can add feminine charm when made into a hair ribbon. Aside from this, a boho scarf is also the perfect accessory to cover unmanageable hair. Check out some of the ways you can wear your scarves as a hair accessory.

1. You can do a ponytail head scarf wrap, which is a simple way to transform a ponytail from plain to pretty. To do this wrap, start by folding a scarf into a narrow band. Next, take the band and wrap it around the ponytail twice and finish with a square knot. You could also make a big ribbon with the ends of the scarf for a dressier version.

2. Wearing this accessory like a hair band is one of the most popular scarf trends today. You can make a hair band out of a scarf by simply folding the scarf into a band. It’s up to you how narrow or wide you want the band to be. Then, place the scarf across the forehead and behind the ears, tying the scarf in a square knot at the back of the neck. You can tuck the ends of the scarf for a neat look or just let them fall free. This style is simple and easy to do and does a great job of keeping your hair away from your face when it’s breezy.

3. For a classic style of wearing head scarves, make a triangle out of the scarf and wrap it over the head with the base of the triangle positioned just above the hairline. Then, take the ends and cross them under the chin and bring them around the back and tie in a square knot. Of course, this Jackie-O look won’t be complete without a pair of oversized sunglasses.

4. For a modern take on the classic style above, try the head scarf wrap. The only difference here is that the base of the triangular scarf is placed across the forehead. The ends of the scarf are pulled back across the sides of the head and tied at the back in a square knot.

As you can see, whether you’re going for a classy and sophisticated look or a casual and even sporty appearance, a Boho scarf can finish your head turning look and make you the prettiest among the rest.
